Nature follows certain rules—some of them extremely strict. Ignoring them can be life-threatening. In such situations, mountain rescuers can save us. They save lives, but to do so efficiently and quickly, they need support.
It was our pleasure to contribute to the continuous training required by this demanding profession, supporting the highly skilled team of Salvamont Pitești through a sponsorship that enabled the acquisition of specialized equipment for participation in both national and international events, as well as for expeditions in various mountain areas aimed at professional development.
The Salvamont Pitești team consists of 12 mountain rescuers, a team leader, four reserve members, as well as a director—qualified as a mountain rescuer—and a service administrator, also professionally certified.
Permanent duty is ensured at the base located at Cota 2000 on the Transfăgărășan, where the Salvamont base has been established. This base supports the activity of both the Pitești and Curtea de Argeș teams and also hosts personnel from the National Roads Administration when necessary.
Within their area of responsibility, there are three additional mountain shelters: Scara, Călțun, and Fereastra Zmeilor.
The Salvamont Pitești team works in close collaboration with the Curtea de Argeș unit and with Salvamont Sibiu, which operates on the northern side of the Făgăraș mountain ridge, thus ensuring rescue assistance along one of the most heavily trafficked mountain routes in the country.
